As part of the newly minted Bishop Ranch City Center designed by Renzo Piano, Goetz Composites engineered and fabricated a 16 meter tall spire. The Engineering services incorporated a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) study to insure the structure will endure the ongoing fatigue from Mother Nature. The spire was built of aerospace grade prepreg carbon fiber, using a specially formulated (and tested) resin system to accommodate California Building Codes.
